Do you offer pediatric dental care for children with special needs?
Absolutely. Our office is equipped with a wide range of specialized equipment to best serve all children. We also offer sedation dentistry if requested, or in the best interest of the child to receive the dental care they need.
Is sedation dentistry for children safe?
Nitrous oxide, known commonly as laughing gas, has been long-used in dental care because it is fast-acting, wears off quickly, and doesn’t require an injection or I.V. It is approved for children because it is very safe. For young children with severe dental anxiety, I.V. sedation may also be available. Please note that side effects from both are possible but rare.
Do you offer weekend appointments?
We do offer appointments on select Saturdays each month to best accommodate busy parents and children. We also see patients until 6:00 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Is cosmetic dentistry safe for kids?
We only offer non-surgical cosmetic treatments for kids, such as the ICON procedure for white spots caused by weakened tooth enamel, and resin bonding to repair chipped or cracked teeth. Both are safe for children.
Do you offer emergency dental care?
Yes. During normal office hours, notify us of the emergency, and bring your child to our office. They will receive priority care. If an emergency happens when our office is closed, call 845-928-2206. We will page the dentist, and she will call you immediately. We are able to help you through a dental emergency 24 hours a day.
How often should my child see the dentist?
Your child should see the dentist twice yearly beginning with their first birthday, or when their first tooth arrives. If your child has any pain, swelling, or bleeding, they should be seen immediately.
